Companion Care
Companion care is a type of in-home care service that provides essential assistance to the elderly and disabled adults.
Care will typically include a number of ways to make daily living easier and safer for the care recipient. For example, a caregiver might perform errands, such as grocery shopping or picking up medications, on behalf of a senior.
At other times, caregivers will plan and prepare regular meals, perform light housekeeping duties, and offer medication reminders.
Pet Care
We have been feeding and emptying the litter box for one of our precious client's feline friends for several years now, but we also enjoy our canine friends, birds, fish and others (snakes not so much :-) ). We help with the feeding, clean up, walking /playing with the animals per your request. Of course this is caregiver specific so we match our team based on their comfort level and your agreement.
Light Housekeeping
Our caregivers will happily help with laundry, dusting, vacuuming, loading/unloading the dishwasher, changing the sheets, organizing closets, cleaning out the fridge, watering plants, taking the trash out, and a whole myriad of other items we can't possibly list here. We are the hands and feet to get the little things done that mom or dad might miss or have trouble with.
Transportation
Let us handle driving to and from doctor appointments as well as take notes or wait outside. We are happy to take you to your various appointments, shopping, running errands, or simply going for a drive to get some fresh air and a change of scenery. Our additional insurance allows us to transport our clients where not all agencies will provide this service so be sure to double-check.
Meal Preparation
We are dedicated to nutrition and keeping our seniors well-fed and hydrated is a very important aspect of overall health. We will assist with meal planning, grocery lists, shopping, and any other meal-related tasks. If you prefer to stay active and in the kitchen, we not only encourage that, but we will be the sous chef to help you prepare the meal and we will be there to take care of the dishes.
If you recently were put on a new diet or have any dietary restrictions (diabetic, low sodium, heart healthy, renal diet, etc.) let us help you implement those changes and keep track of ingredients with you.
Errands and Shopping
We can take you to run errands and go shopping or you can give us your list and let us take care of it for you while you relax in your favorite chair at home.
We do prefer when our clients join us as it gets them out of the house and moving which is critical to gaining strength back and staying healthy.
Sitter Shifts
Many times a transition from the hospital to home or from a skilled nursing facility back home might call for a little extra help until you get settled in and your strength back. Let us be there to help ease that transition by providing day or night shifts or anything in-between that meets your needs. We also assist facilities such as memory care, assisted living, and others when we are called into action to help a resident stay safe. Often this can be from a condition that is preventing a loved one from making the best decisions (wandering, leaving the stove turned on, falling, etc.) and in those cases we are here to help.
